Islay Festival 2017: Bruichladdich open day

28 May 2017 by

The second day of this year’s Islay Festival of Music and Malt brought Scotchwhisky.com to Bruichladdich distillery’s open day, where an eclectic line-up of live music and food stalls kept whisky pilgrims partying away all day.

Bruichladdich fans queued up in their hundreds to pick up a festival bottling – this year an NAS Port Charlotte matured in seven different cask types. Named Transparency, only 1,000 bottles of the limited edition were available to buy, but sold out within hours.

Scotchwhisky.com editor Becky Paskin spoke to two visitors from Seattle – whisky enthusiasts Jordan Sahlberg and Brian Crossman – as well as Bruichladdich distillery manager Allan Logan about this year’s festivities.
